Renovation | Tucson, Arizona
This multi-use project was a conversion of an original Hilton hotel from the 50's era. The property's new purpose is to serve as student housing for the nearby University of Arizona and Pima Colleges. The owner's desire was to create an oasis including a multitude of amenities minimizing the students' need to leave their home base.
The eight housing buildings and main clubhouse total 104,626 square feet of building area. A total of 205 double occupancy units complete with kitchens, private bathrooms, bedding, computer desks, and LCD TV's. Basketball and volleyball courts as well as a Jacuzzi were added to the refurbished courtyard. The gated site is complete with laundry facilities, a computer lab, and a fitness center.
The Clubhouse incorporates administrative offices and Einstein's Bagels sharing the space with a convenience store. This student haven is complete with pool table and multimedia center. In the afternoon, happy hour gets things started in the bar/lounge. This complex also accommodates a variety of events with its fully equipped ballrooms and new commercial kitchen prepared for any special occasion.
