The goal of the Pyramid Credit Union’s Broadway Branch remodel was tow-fold: provide a forward thinking open concept plan to meet the functional needs of modern day banking, while providing an attractive aesthetic that met their identity needs. To achieve this, the teller area was significantly reduced and the hard line between the tellers and the customer was eliminated. Instead, open teller pods were installed to create an organic and subtle division between the public space and the work area. The lobby was enlarged and flanked by an increased number of glass front offices. This contributed in creating a more integrated connection between the credit union and its members. It was also important to communicate the identity of the credit union through the selection of materials, colors, and the installation of wall murals.
